Shiok shines through storm to take MUO 2011 Champions! PDF E-mail

Results are in !

Shiok 'recruited' Zeus and Thor and used them to their advantage in a slippery-when-wet win against Pirates Hearts Ninjas in the Finals of the MUO 2011. TD Kuan did promise you a cooler tournament this year after all!

On route to today's Finals, Shiok defeated Vietnam's Vudoo for a place in the semis against Thailand's Soidawgz . Pirates Heart Ninjas a mixed team from Melbourne and Singapore were a familiar face who finished runner-up in last year's MUO. Pirates defeated Singapore's NYTP to meet CockEye Bullets in the semis.

Pirates started strongly in the beginning of the game, but just as Shiok found their rhythm to equalise at 5-5, the game was suspended temporarily due to lightning. After the thunderstorm passed and set up the field for some nice wet and muddy layouts, Shiok came on strongly to win the next 4 points in a row helped by poor mistakes from Pirates. Pirates must've growled "Rrrrr" and sent the weak link to walk the plank, as they soon came back and crawled their way up again with the crowd cheering them on.

There were many awesome muddy layouts (often consecutively), once a Pirate quickly wiped the mud out of his eye before JLo set him up for yet another layout. It's amazing what a year of experience has brought to Shiok, their girls were quick, sharp and often dominated the game with their accurate passes and throws.

Even when the Pirates stormed the ship and unleashed their swords to narrow the gap to 14-12, they could not prevent Shiok from slipping and sliding away with a well-deserved win.

p/s Captain Jack Sparrow might be available next year, hint hint.
